We will hold our October 22 meeting in celebration of Polio Awareness Month off-site at the Rotary Clock on the grounds of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse (Greensboro Avenue Side). Here are a few details:
- Parking – You may park on the street around the courthouse but it is limited. We encourage you to park at the Tuscaloosa Intermodal Facility at the corner of 23rd Avenue and 7th Street. Parking there is ample and free.
- Program & Lunch – At Noon, we will convene our meeting next to the Rotary Clock, read a proclamation for Polio Eradication signed by Tuscaloosa County, the City of Tuscaloosa, University of Alabama, and the City of Northport and kick off a month-long polio awareness campaign. Public officials and several special guests will be in attendance. We will then adjourn to Chitwood Hall at First United Methodist Church for a catered lunch from Urban Cookhouse and a program showing the progress Rotary is making toward worldwide polio eradication.
- Shuttle – Though the Courthouse is only a block from the intermodal Facility, Crown Transportation will run a shuttle (14-person van) to and from the Courthouse to keep us on time. Return service from First Methodist will also be provided.
- Rain Plan – In the event of rain, we will simply have the whole program at Chitwood Hall at First Methodist.
We hope you will attend and celebrate the cause that connects Rotarians worldwide.
