Tuscaloosans are justifiably proud of our strong local medical community and its standards of medical care. And in that community, the DCH Cancer Center stands out as one of the strongest points of pride. On Tuesday Rotarians will hear more about the Center from its Director, Domingo Valpuesta.

As director of the Center, Valpuesta oversees day-to-day operations, and works with the Cancer Center’s physicians and staff to ensure a high quality of care for patients. He also directs the Center’s affiliation with the renowned MD Anderson Physicians Network.

Valpuesta joined DCH as the Cancer Center Director in May 2011. He came to DCH from Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C., where he served as business manager for radiation oncology. He earned a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Auburn University and master’s degrees in business and health administration from UAB.

In operation since 1986, the DCH Cancer Center aims offers West Alabamians diagnosed with cancer “the most advanced equipment available in a building designed to contribute to a world-class patient experience.” For more information, visit www.dchsystem.com.
