The Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa is proud of its committment to Inernational service, which is overseen by the following committees and their programs:

 

International Projects Tuscaloosa Rotary InternationalThe Club sponsors international projects around the world, often in partnership with other clubs and districts, and often in keeping with the vision and mission of Rotary International as determined from year to year by its leadership. Recent projects have included

 

International Scholarships The International Scholarships Committee facililtates planning and/or financing of both inbound and outbound scholars. Scholarships are available from Rotary International, District 6860, and local bequests. The committee solicits nominations and conducts interviews to select outstanding scholars for study abroad. It also learns from District of foreign scholars coming to study here, and assists with their needs.

 

International Students The International Students Committee is responsible for maintaining contact with students at the University of Alabama, Stillman College, and Shelton State Community College, and providing appropriate interface with Rotarians. One or more social events each Rotary Year should be planned for and with internationals, and pairing of them, as appropriate, with Rotary families is a goal. This committee also is liaison for the club with the Rotary International Student Center, and with the University of Alabama in maintaining and oprating the center.

 

Rotaract Tuscaloosa Rotoract ClubRotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service organization for young men and women ages 18 to 30. The Rotaract Committee links the local Rotary Club to university or college based service organizations, with the University of Alabama, Shelton State Community College, and Stillman College, as opportunity sites. A very active Rotaract Club meets every other Thursday at the Rotary International Student Center on the University of Alabama campus.
