Rotarian John Cade, 81, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa from January 8, 1991, and previously a member in Florida and Texas. He was president of the local club in 2000-2001. He was a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and a supporter of the Rotary International Foundation as Benefactor and Bequest Society member. John is survived by his wife, Virginia; children John Jr., Joe, and Susie; and six grandchildren. John’s family and his wife’s have been prominent in Tuscaloosa Rotary’s 95-year history. His grandfather, Adolphus “Catlin” Cade, Sr., was a charter member of this club and president in 1926-27. John’s father, A.C. Cade, Jr., was also a club member. Brothers-in-law John and Joe B. Duckworth, are current members and past-presidents. Their father, Clem Duckworth, and grandfather, Joseph A. Duckworth, were both club presidents and district governors.
 
A memorial service will be at First United Methodist Church, Friday, April 27, at 2:00 pm, following a family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of West Alabama, First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, or the Tuscaloosa Symphony.
