Bruce BurrowsRotarian Bruce Burrows will speak on “The Evolution of the Electoral College.” 

Bruce, a Marine veteran and retired commercial airline pilot, has taught history courses at the College of Continuing Studies and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the
University of Alabama for the past 10 years.

In April, he received the Instructor of the Decade award from OLLI at UA. In 2009, he was the recipient of the College of Continuing Studies Excellence in Teaching Award.

He has taught courses in the History of Modern China, FDR and the New Deal, The First World War, Second World War Europe, Second World War Pacific, Korean and Vietnam Wars, History of England, The French Revolution and Napoleon Bonaparte, History of Russia, and the development of the Electoral College.

Bruce graduated from The Citadel with a B. A. in history and
earned a master’s degree in history from the University of West
Florida.
