Ellen Woodward Potts received her bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration and Finance from  Birmingham – Southern College, and her Master of Business Administration from the University of South Alabama.

Ellen began her volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity in 1997 upon moving to Tuscaloosa.  She volunteered on the Family Selection Committee from 1997 – 2013, and on the board from January 2012 until March 2013, when she stepped down from the board to take the Executive Director position.  She serves on the board of the Alabama Association of Habitat Affiliates.  Additionally, Ellen has taught classes on non-profit organizations and on Alzheimer’s disease at the University of Alabama in HES and in the Honors College.  Currently, she teaches a Habitat for Humanity practicum class in the UA Honors College.
