Tim Parker III is president of Parker Towing Co., a marine transportation company based in Tuscaloosa. He joined Parker Towing in 2005 and was a sales representative and director of Sales and Terminal Services before becoming president. He also serves on the company’s board of directors.

Mr. Parker is involved in a number of industry organizations, including the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Association and Waterways Council. He serves on the board of directors for the Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway Association and was recently
appointed to a 5-year term on the Alabama State Port Authority board of directors.

Before joining Parker Towing Co., Mr. Parker worked in the trucking industry for US Xpress Inc. in Chattanooga, Tenn., from 2003-2005. During his tenure there, he served in numerous sales and customer service roles in the expedited and team divisions.

Mr. Parker earned his bachelor’s degree in business marketing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and recently completed the Management Development Program at the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia. 

Active in numerous civic and business organizations, Mr. Parker is a member of the executive committee member and past chairman of the board of directors of the Tuscaloosa Metropolitan YMCA, a member of the local board of advisors for Regions
Bank and a member of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. He is also vice chairman of the Administrative Board for the First United Methodist Church and serves on the church’s Finance Committee, and is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa and the Alabama Leadership Initiative.

Mr. Parker and his wife, Megan, live in Tuscaloosa and have two sons, Mize, 7, and Rhett, 5.
