Samory PruittSamory Pruitt became vice president for Community Affairs on August 1, 2004. In this post, he is responsible for developing and managing the University’s public outreach programs and providing campus leadership in enhancing the quality of life within the campus community through programming that emphasizes cultural understanding through dialogue. As the Division of Community Affairs entered its second decade, they captured the essence of their community engagement efforts in a publication entitled Community Affairs — Division Highlights: 2004–2014, Engaging Communities and Changing Lives. From education and health to medicine and music; from faith, technology, engineering and science, to assistance to the elderly; from international programs to practices that enhance multicultural understanding, they have joined together everyday citizens and highly trained scholars in keeping with the pursuit of community engaged scholarship.
