Ronald Dulek, Ph.D., is the John R. Miller Professor of Management at the University of
Alabama.
Ron has co-authored seven books and more than 50 refereed journal articles. One of his
books, The Elements of Business Writing, was on the Executive Bestseller lists of
Houghton-Mifflin, Macmillan, and Prentice-Hall publishing companies. The Association
for Business Communication honored Ron with its highest research honor, the Kitty O.
Locker Award for Outstanding Research.
The senior class at the University of Alabama selected Ron as the inaugural speaker for
the University’s Last Lecture Series. He has also received the National Alumni
Association’s Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award, the Thomas D. Moore
Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award, The College of Continuing Studies
Outstanding Teacher Award, and the Penny Allen Award for Outstanding Commitment
to Students. Additionally, Ron has been voted MBA/ EMBA Teacher of the Year thirty-
seven times.
Ron currently serves on the Board of Directors of Alabama Credit Union, where he
served as Chair for five years, the University of Alabama Press and the Morris Mayer
Advisory Board. He previously served as a board member of the West Alabama Red
Cross and the YMCA. He served a two-year term as Board Chair of the YMCA and is
the present Chair of the Mayer Board. Ron and his wife, Sally, reside ten months a year
in Northport, Alabama and two months a year in Sabie Park, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
