Matt Gage is the Director of The University of Alabama, Office of Archaeological Research, one of the oldest and largest cultural resource management facilities in the United States. Gage has been the principal investigator on hundreds of projects throughout the Southeast and US Virgin Islands. A Yankee by birth, he arrived in Alabama more than two decades ago to begin an archaeological career that has taken him to many of the forgotten corners of our region and provided him an opportunity to appreciate the richness and diversity of our shared heritage.
