Tuscaloosa native and former Tuscaloosa Rotary member, Rob Guthrie, director of Business Development for Entegrity Energy Partners, a regional energy services company based in Little Rock, Arkansas, will speak on “Energy Efficiency: A New Market Commodity.”
His talk will focus on energy efficiency as an investment vehicle, presenting national data to demonstrate the return on investment that energy efficiency programs have generated for both ratepayers and utilities, focusing specifically on Southeastern states. He also will discuss recent innovations in the industry that enable public and private building owners to fund major energy projects with no upfront capital. And he will show the steps that Alabama has taken to improve its efficiency, and will offer some suggestions as to how it might further improve its standing (currently ranked 39th in the U.S.).
Rob began his career as a project manager for Guthrie Construction Co. in Tuscaloosa, working there for nearly 10 years, and is a certified energy manager through the American Association of Energy Engineers, a LEED Green associate and a certified Home Energy Rating Specialist. He has worked on energy projects for such clients as Duke University, Detroit Edison, L’Oreal USA and the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Rob is a 1999 graduate of Tuscaloosa Academy and a 2003 graduate of the University of the South (Sewanee), where he earned a degree in Spanish. He lives in Little Rock with his wife, Jeannie, and their daughter, Clare, 2.
